About us...

Huddersfield Road Runners AC was created as the Road Running Section of Huddersfield Rugby Club in 1982, in an era when many other northern clubs joined the scene, following the popularity generated by the first London Marathon and Great North Run of 1981.

We are affiliated to Huddersfield Rugby Union Football Club (HRUFC),but we retain an independent constitution and manages our own funds raised primarily from the success of the annual Huddersfield 10K Road Race which is held on the final Sunday of February.

Running with us is a great way to get to know your way round Huddersfield and the surrounding areas of the Colne and Holme Valleys.

Facilities at the club include parking, changing rooms, showers, lockers and a bar - so after a run and a shower, stay for a while and enjoy a social drink with us.

Social Activities

We don’t just run together, we also get together for various social events. There are two club dinners each year which are open to all runners and their partners; one during the summer where the club awards are presented and of course a Christmas Do. We also arrange occasional Club trips away.
